Hutchinson Raceway Park, Hutchinson, KS (July 27, 2007)
The KBMR team traveled to Kansas for a 3 day swing starting in Hutchinson. Kyle was able to win his heat putting him outside front row for the “A” feature. However, after a series of restarts, John Anderson and Kyle made some contact causing Anderson to spin into the infield resulting in suspension damage for him. Kyle’s was put to the back for rough driving. He was stay able to weed his way back towards the front and finished 9th.
Dodge City Raceway Park, Dodge City, KS (July 28, 2007)
The KBMR team really enjoyed traveling out west to the “nicest” track facility they have ever been too! Kyle started in the back of his heat race and was able to come up to fourth on the tacky, fast track. This would start him fourth row outside for the feature. After a few laps the top runners were Boen, Purkey, Berck, and Anderson. After a restart midway through the race Kyle tried the outside but was unable to make it work allowing Anderson to slip by him and Purkey. Then with 2 to go, Kyle was determined to make the outside work for him and got around Purkey for a 3rd place finish!
Heartland Park, Topeka, KS (July 29, 2007)
The KBMR team spent the afternoon worried that the race would get cancelled due to threatening weather conditions. However, the weather would hold off and make for a great night of racing. Starting in the back of the heat race again, Kyle would make his way up to 2nd place. This gave him a great starting position for the feature, 2nd row inside. But after only a few laps into the main event, the car in front of Kyle spun out damaging Kyle’s right front fender, sending him to the pits to remove it. Coming back out he would have to start in the back. He was able to fight his way up to a 6th place finish.
Coming up
The team will be staying close to home this weekend traveling to McCool Junction on Friday and Saturday for a 2 day event held by NCRA. Then Sunday we will travel to Beatrice for a MLRA show.
