Eagle Raceway, Eagle, NE (July 17, 2007)-MODIFIED

Kyle traveled to Eagle to drive Neil Zank’s modified in the USMTS series.  Kyle was in the second heat and started 2nd row inside.  He finished 3rd in his heat and qualified 9th in passing points to get him to the “A” feature.  The 35 lap feature had a lot of cautions as several cars got torn up due to the fast but rough track conditions.  Kyle struggled with the restarts and would fall back a position or two, but then he would get into a rhythm and gain back his spot.  He finished 7th.

Mid Nebraska Speedway, Doniphan, NE (July 20, 2007)

The KBMR team was very excited to be traveling to Doniphan.  As usual the team wanted to perform well, especially in front of the home track fans.  Kyle went out in his heat starting toward the rear, drove to the front and won the heat!  This put Kyle on the front row outside of Kelly Boen.  On the drop of the green Kyle fell back a bit but came back towards the front into 3rd place by the second lap.  On the restart after a caution Kyle went to the high side and drove by both John Anderson and Kelly Boen to take the lead with 18 laps to go.  Kyle started to pull away from the rest of the pack, but came up on lap traffic.    Kyle’s car was not as good down on the bottom and Kelly regained the lead on the final lap.  We finished a hard fought 2nd.

Mid Nebraska Speedway, Doniphan, NE (July 21, 2007)

The second night out the KBMR team was very determined to top the night before.  The track was in excellent condition for a very fast track.  Kyle drew 2nd row inside for the heat and won the heat, fighting off Joe Kosiski.  This would put Kyle 2nd row inside for the 50 lap “A” feature.  Early on in the race it would be the same three guys chasing each other as the night before, Kelly, John and Kyle.  On lap 20, the caution came out causing a much needed restart for the team.  Kyle would be on the outside of the second row.  Once again, Kyle used the high line to shoot around John and Kelly to take the lead with 20 to go.  Kyle encountered lapped traffic on lap 38, which was his downfall Friday but tonight, Kyle was able to smoothly weave his way through the traffic and maintain the lead. With 2 to go a caution came, causing panic in the hearts of all Berck fans.  Kyle was able to hold Kelly off and take the checked flag.  This is the KBMR team’s first win of the 2007 season and we were proud to learn that Kyle joins Kent Tucker as the only two-time winner of the Late Model Nationals at Mid Nebraska Speedway.

Boone County Raceway, Albion, NE (July 22, 2007)

The KBMR team was glad to be traveling to another local track for the 3rd night in a row.  This was a WDRL event so Kyle had to qualify for his heat.  He timed in well setting the 9th quickest time out of the 36 car field.  He was set up to run in the 4th heat 2nd row inside.  On turn 2 the lead cars got turned and came down on Kyle.  Kyle tried to go low but another car came up along side and sandwich Kyle in between the cars.  He was still able to finish his heat in 2nd place and qualify for the pole dash.  The team worked like crazy trying to get the car back to a working condition but there was more damage done to the car then we could find.  When Kyle went out for the dash he felt the front end of the car not turning very well.  He finished 8th in the dash putting him 4th row outside for the feature.  With the something going very wrong with the car, Kyle felt it was “safest” to pull in and wait till we could find the problem. .  He was scored 22nd.
