Eagle (June 8, 2007) –
This was a WDRL first ever racing event at Eagle Raceway. The KBMR team was very excited to come back to an all time favorite race track of theirs. The night started off really well for Kyle setting the 3rd fastest time in qualifying. WDRL used an inverting starting method that started Kyle 5th in his heat. He was unable to move much in the heat and finished 4th in the heat. The crew reset up the car for the very tricky 1/3 mile high bank bull ring “A” feature. Kyle started 7th row inside. The car set up looked promising early in the race. But a few laps later the nose dug into the “rough” high banked track caving in the bottom of the nose. It looked like the race was over for the KBMR team but Kyle kept digging and finished a respectable 8th!
Grain Valley (June 9, 2007)-
The next night the KBMR team headed to a new track in Grain Valley, MO to run a MLRA show. It was another 1/3 mile semi-banked track. Heat race did not go to well for Kyle, started 4th and ended 4th. The track was much slicker and smother than expected. So the team went to work once again to try and get the set up better for this condition. The “A” feature started 23 cars with Kyle starting 8th row inside. It was a tough field, but the car was better. He worked through the field and finished a competitive 5th place!
Coming:
This weekend the KBMR team will be heading up to Wisconsin to compete at Cedar Lake in New Richmond Friday and Saturday night. Then Sunday they will head to Jim Falls, WI.
Thanks for following the KBMR team!
