Cedar Lake Speedway, New Richmond, WI (June 15, 2007)
It is always nice to travel north in the summer to the beautiful scenery of Wisconsin. The first night went well for the KBMR team. Kyle finished an aggressive 2nd in his heat, putting him in the 7th row inside of the feature. The 26-car field had just pulled onto the race track when the persistent rain moved into the area, forcing the postponement of the scheduled 50-lapper.
Cedar Lake Speedway, New Richmond, WI (June 16, 2007)
The night started with the postponed feature from the previous night. We were running around 11th when with 10 laps Kyle brought the car to the infield with mechanical issues which scored him 20th.
Then the second night events started. The track switched back and forth from tacky to slick through out the night and made it tough to decide which set up to go with. Kyle ran 5th in his heat race putting him in the B feature. Kyle started 6th and came through the field strong using the cushion on the top of the track and finished 2nd in the “B” transferring him into the back of the “A” feature. The feature started 26 cars, with Scott Bloomquist leading the field. The KBMR team held their own in the middle of the pack. The track remained tacky throughout the 50 laps and provided lots of traction for the cars. Kyle finished a decent 14th.
Eagle Valley Raceway, Jim Falls, WI (June 17, 2007)
The last race on this trip up north was at Jim Falls. Kyle finished 2nd in his heat and qualified for the pole dash. He started 4th row inside for the slick feature. Once again the track conditions were a mystery to the team, making it tough for the team to dial in on the correct set up. Kyle was running 10th when he got a flat tire and pulled into the in field. He was scored 21st. It was a tough track with not a lot of passing. This track does not make the KBMR team’s top 10 list of favorite tracks!
Overall Kyle is still learning his new Mastersbilt chassis and feels he is making headway despite the weekend’s results.
Coming Up
This week the KBMR team is heading to a car and bike show at the E-Free Church in Grand Island on Sunday afternoon. Kyle will be giving a short talk. Later that day, we will head to I-80 Speedway in Greenwood, NE for the Race of Champions. Hope to see you there.
Thanks for following the KBMR team!
