US 30 Speedway, Columbus, NE (June 21, 2007) -
This was the KBMR first night out with the 14JR car. Kyle started 3rd row inside of his heat and charged toward the front to finish 2nd. The top 4 drivers in each heat then redrew for their starting positions. I was assigned the task to redraw and drew 12 out of 12. He would have to come from the back in the 20 lap “A” feature. Kyle was up for the task and came from the back to finish an aggressive 3rd.
I-80 Speedway, Greenwood, NE (June 24, 2007) –
The KBMR team decided to run the weekly show since they were already there for the Race of Champions with the 14JR car. Being a new car there Kyle had to start from the back in his heat. The car was not responding very well to track conditions and he finished 8th in the heat. Then the crew went to work to get it ready for the “A” feature. Kyle would be starting 20th in the 20 lap “A” feature, so the crew needed to hit the set up correctly if they wanted some success! Kyle struggled at first and it was not looking good 10 laps into the race. But then he found his groove on the bottom of the race track and got a rhythm going! He moved into 3rd place with a few laps left. He was coming on strong to the 2nd place car, but ran out of laps. He finished 3rd.
I-80 Speedway, Race of Champions (June 24, 2007) -
This was the 2nd Race of Champions that Kyle has been invited to at NRP. During the intermission all drivers made their way to the front stretch to draw for their starting position. Kyle drew 7th starting him 4th row inside for the race. We felt confident going into the race, since we had been racing the entire night in the weekly show. We had the set up perfect for the slick track and moved into 3rd place in 2-3 laps. Then the track rubbered up and all cars found the groove in the middle of the race track and just held onto their position the rest of the race. Kyle finished 3rd (again).
Coming Up –
The team has a big 4th of July weekend of racing ahead chasing the NCRA points. Thanks for following the KBMR team!
