State Fair - Modified, Lincoln, NE (August 31, 2007)

Kyle would once again be driving the 33z modified owned by Neil Zank.  After a convincing win in the heat race, Kyle would draw 14 out of 14 numbers for his starting spot in the “A” feature.  Kyle and the crew had their work cut out for them with most of the fast cars lining up ahead of him.  After a long caution filled race, Kyle was able to work his way through the field to a solid 4th place finish.

81 Speedway, Park City, KS (September 1, 2007)

This was the first night of a 3 day swing for the KBMR team.  Kyle started in the back of his heat and was able to move forward and take the win.  This put Kyle on the pole for the “A” feature with Kelly Boen on the outside of the front row.  Kelly took the early lead, but after a caution Kyle decided to go to the bottom of the track while Boen stayed up top.  The bottom proved to be faster for Kyle as he took the lead away from Boen.  Several laps later, Kyle slipped out of the bottom grove to get around lap traffic and bobbled, giving Boen just enough room to slip by.  Kyle would stay behind Boen the rest of the race and settled for a 2nd place finish.

Belleville Highbanks, Belleville, KS (September 2, 2007)

This track is known as “the world’s fastest half mile”, and it would prove to be true on this night.  Again Kyle would start from the back of his heat due to the luck of the draw.  We were a little concerned as it is generally a difficult track to pass on, but Kyle was able to move forward and was running 2nd when he ran over some debris on the race track and got a flat tire and was unavailable to finish the heat race.  With only 25 cars there was no “B” feature, so Kyle would be unable to improve on his starting position. For the 20 lap “A” feature, Kyle would start 9th row inside.  Kyle was able to hook the car up on the bottom grove and quickly moved towards the front of the pack.  The car was good on the top side of the race track too as he came into lap traffic and he was able to secure a 3rd place finish.

Heartland Raceway Park, Topeka, KS (September 3, 2007)

The final night of the 3 day swing ended in Topeka, KS.  Starting on the outside of row 2 in his heat race, Kyle was determined to jump to the lead.  Kyle was unable to complete the pass and was forced high and snagged the wall, unable to finish the heat race.  The crew went to work and made repairs for the “A” feature and Kyle would have to start from the rear of the field.  Kyle was able to move forward to finish 8th on the slick race track.
